Walking alongside you
Because I've been there too
My mission here is simple:
1. To share information on mental health that gives you confidence and optimism
2.To offer you pathways to creating self-empowered mental wellbeing
3. For us to create a movement together #SeriouslySelfEmpowered
Anna Rising
HELLO, I'M
I'm a mental wellbeing coach, mental health activist, podcast host and founder of the
#SeriouslySelfEmpowered movement.
I'm also;
A spiritual being, creative creature, and mother to my son and puppy.
Describing me as a typical home-loving Cancerian would be accurate but I definitely need to immerse regularly in nature. (And will walk many miles for geocaching.)

I will leave the house to do pole dance though! (And you might occasionally spot me doing other forms of fitness if a potential medal is involved.)
Mostly, I'm happiest just to sit for hours doing any of the following; gaming, reading an engaging book, cake decorating, journaling, playing my handpan, the many forms of creative expression I pursue, studying, or engaging in deep conversation (with tea).
I'm a self-professed forever student, into anything that involves the body, behaviour & psychology, spirituality and of course, mental health, my very biggest passion of all!

"I want you to know when it comes to living with mental health challenges, I can relate."
I talk more about my own story further down on this page, but my direct exposure to mental health conditions started in very early childhood, before beginning to experience my own difficulties in adolescence. Since my first mental health diagnosis at 15 years old, I’ve had another 7, and also live with Fibromyalgia. I’ve been on array of medications and had many different therapies over the years. I’ve experienced first-hand the systems in place to deal with mental health challenges from both sides; as patient and professional. I know the benefits, and the limitations, of our current approaches.
I’m completely self-managed now, this is the place I wanted to get to. And I know so many of you crave to be in the same position.
After more than a decade of study, self-healing, doing the work, getting the qualifications and coaching like-minded souls, I’m ready to be part of the change. I am here with you.

Offering a clear roadmap to self-empowered mental wellbeing is my sacred service work
My story
The path I have taken to understanding, managing and ultimately thriving with mental health challenges is one I have walked most of my life, and continue to do so. There were so many gaps in the mental health system and approaches that made my journey so much more difficult than it needed to be, and so I’ve dedicated myself to helping others who are looking to become as autonomous and self-sufficient in managing their mental health as possible.

Here’s a little more about my own journey:
*Content advisory message: Subjects around and in relation to mental health can be emotionally challenging, so look after yourself, and come back to this another time if you don’t think this is a good time for you. It’ll be here when you’re ready.

My deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to Tara Brading. You heard me when I shared my dream, helped me believe it was possible and supported me in every way until it was fully birthed into this world. You are the greatest friend, inspiration and open-hearted mentor I could have wished for.
And to my Grandmama. I simply wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you.
